The Bench 988
A safe place. A strong community.
A new beginning.
A space created by and for firefighters who may be struggling and seeking support. More than just a bench — a symbol of solidarity, healing, and connection.
More than a bench.
A lifeline for our own.
We're proud to launch The Bench 988 — a space created by and for firefighters who may be struggling and seeking support. This is more than just a bench. It's a symbol of solidarity, healing, and the quiet promise that no one walks alone.
Mental Health Support
Resources and connections to professional help when needed — confidential, immediate, and built around the realities of the job.
What does 988 mean?
988 is the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline — a vital resource for anyone experiencing mental health distress. We've incorporated this number into our name as a constant reminder that help is always just a call away.
A quiet corner of
Orlando Veterans Park.
A peaceful place to sit, reflect, and meet with others who understand the unique challenges we face. Whether you're looking to talk, listen, or simply be present — this space is for you.
